Hi there,
If this is your first time visiting The Motherhood, welcome! I am Vicky, 37 year old mum from Lancaster. I currently blog about the real life parenting of being a single mum to my rapidly growing 11 year old, Nathan, as well as covering topics such as lifestyle, food, travel, toys, games and gadgets, as well as invisible illnesses and disabilities. In a sense it’s a bit of a free for all here to be honest.
I live south of Lancaster with my son, who I home school, and our cats. I drink a lot of coffee, I love sleep and have an unhealthy obsession with Youtube. My linky answers are below and I look forward to seeing you at Blog On X, I am crossing all fingers and toes that I make it to this one without car trouble and also without ending up in hospital with meningitis like last time!

What’s your favourite pizza topping?
I love a good basic four cheese pizza, but if I am being fancy, the King of the Coast pizza from Pizza Hut with a white base, spinach, king prawns and roasted peppers.
You can have dinner with any three guests dead or alive- who do you choose and why?
Brendon Urie because he is such a talented and funny guy, he can make everyone laugh, wow people with his singing and also he is very humble and provides good advice if anyone needs it.
Shane Dawson as he is a comedy genius but also relatable on so many levels.
Billie Piper, my girl crush. She is just a bit epic but also a mum and we can talk parenting.
Up to now what would you consider being your biggest life achievement?
Overcoming a lot of life drama which included looking both my parents, going through divorce, a failed business venture, but still being able to raise an awesome son who has drive and ambition to educate himself through home schooling, and feels comfortable at 11 to have mature conversations about gender and sexual labelling.
If you woke up tomorrow as a character from any Disney film or book who would you be and why?
Baymax from Big Hero 6, not only is he a kickass super hero, but also has the ability to heal and make people feel better.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Turn over and go back to sleep
If you won the lottery what would be the very first thing you would buy and why?
That is very dependant on the amount won. If it’s a life changing sum, I would need to come to terms with this change so a holiday would be the first port of call, and while away be looking at property and what sort of lifestyle I would want for myself and Nathan.
What is your favourite quote from a movie?
“Death by stereo!” Sam, The Lost Boys
If you were a superhero what would your super power be?
As above, the power to heal. It’s something that could be used for good and not evil.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Never feel guilty for taking time to yourself to rest, especially if you have a hidden illness.
Which emoji do you use the most?
Not a huge emoji lover – I prefer using gifs on Facebook and whatsapp. My most used ones are currently; ?????
If you could go back in time and tell yourself anything what would it be?
Everything will be fine, trust your instincts.
What do you currently have set as the wallpaper on your phone?
Cherry blossoms
If you could do anything in the world as a legitimate job what would you do?
I do it. I’m self employed as a blogger and have the freedom to pick and choose where my life takes me.
Where is your favourite place in the world?
Home. There is something so peaceful and calming about being in your own space surrounded by the items you treasure most. I try and live a very Hygge lifestyle, blankets, cushions, candles, home comforts, and that does make me love being in my own bubble.
I look forward to seeing you at Blog On X in a few weeks time. Don’t forget your suitcase!
Love, hugs and epic goodie bags

I love the idea of being Baymax. Perfect for cuddles too!
Well I do like giving cuddles and I’m squishy in the right places too!
Oh I love your idea of a super power being able to heal – wish I’d thought of that! Although, the character I thought of when I chose mine does have that ability, so maybe that counts 😉 Visiting from the Link List x
Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you at Blog on!
I second what everyone else has said that would be a pretty cool superpower!!
Thanks! I think it would be great, would possibly help the NHS out too!
It’ll be good to see you again Vicky – glad your health is better and fingers crossed for nothing too exciting between now and then! 🙂
Exciting things I can deal with – it’s the things that spoil my plans which get on my nerves! Looking forward to seeing you there x
